Beirut (IP) - Dozens of Lebanese lawmakers met for the first time since a new round of Israeli attacks on various parts of the country to discuss the crisis of Lebanese refugees.

Iran Press/ West Asia: The refugee crisis has intensified pressure on the Lebanese government and parliament to address the issue, with the crisis becoming more challenging in the absence of a ceasefire.

More than 50 Lebanese lawmakers from various factions gathered at parliament in Beirut on Tuesday and reached a consensus on how to manage the refugee crisis.

The lawmakers stressed that the refugee crisis, resulting from Israeli attacks, requires a national approach and urged the Lebanese government to make greater efforts to provide shelter and other necessities for the displaced.

Lebanese lawmakers also called on the international community to fulfill its humanitarian responsibilities towards Lebanon.

Amin Sherri, a member from the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in the Lebanese parliament, said during a parliamentary session on the issue of displaced persons that the behavior of Lebanese political and municipal authorities towards the displaced has been commendable and their hosting has been friendly.
