Lebanese cabinet session closed until political turmoil settled

Lebanon (IP) - According to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Joumhouria, cabinet meetings will not be held until the political turmoil in the country calms down.

Iran PressMiddle East: Citing from the Lebanese sources, Al-Joumhouria announced today that due to the recent clashes in the Tayouneh region, the Lebanese cabinet meetings will not be held until the situation in the country calms down." 

A number of Lebanese people protesting on October 21, against the actions of Tariq Bitar, the investigator in charge of the Beirut port blast in August 2020, were demonstrating outside the Palace of Justice in the city when a group of anonymous gunmen open fire on them.

The attack led to the death of 6 people and the injury of more than 60 others. 

People in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, hold a funeral ceremony for the armed attack victims in the day of mourning across Lebanon on Friday after the death toll from the Tayouneh ambush attack reached seven.

In the wake of the incidents, Amal and Hezbollah Lebanese movements invited people to calmness, announcing that the attack on the protesters was carried out by outfits affiliated with 'Al-Quwwat al-Libnaniyah' (Lebanese Forces).
