Iran Press/ Iran Sports: At the end of the karate competition of the 5th Solidarity Games of Islamic Countries, the Iranian karate representatives managed to win 5 silver and 3 bronze out of 14 medal opportunities.
Fatemeh Sadeghi lagged behind his Turkish rival in the individual kata, winning the silver medal. Mobina Heidari also snatched silver in the -68 weight category in the Kumite section.
Still, Sara Bahmanyar won bronze of Kumite in the -50 weight category.
The women's kata team, Zeinab Hosseini, Malika Ezzati, and Sepideh Amini, snatched silver.
Abolfaz Shahrjerdi in the individual kata snatched bronze, and so did Ali-Asghar Asiabari in Kumite, in the -75 weight category.
