Iran's Foreign Minister Spokesperson said that unfortunately, for the second year in a row, due to oppressive and illegal US sanctions Iran's contribution to the United Nations has been hampered.

Iran PressIran news: Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the founding and active members of the United Nations, is committed to full and timely payment of membership contributions to the United Nations and other international organizations and agencies. 

He noted that despite the numerous difficulties, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has provided the necessary resources to pay for its membership contribution in the United Nations and is conducting the necessary consultations to resolve the issue.

Khatibzadeh added, at the same time, the provision of a secure channel for faster payment of membership contributions is under consideration.

In the end, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated that it is worthwhile for the UN Secretary-General and the Secretariat to specifically consider the special conditions of countries facing illegal sanctions, and to help these countries to pay their quotas.
