Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of foreign affairs reacted toward the meeting of 156 foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, saying three Iranian islands of Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa as an integral and eternal part of the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran PressIran news: The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser kanaani referred to the statement of the meeting of 156 foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and said: "The countries of this region have a collective responsibility in promoting the interests of the region, and Iran has always supported the dialogue and cooperation of the Persian Gulf countries as regional partners."

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani, in response to the statement of the meeting of 156 foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, expressed hope by stressing the regional strategy and the basic policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the strengthening and deepening of relations with the countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and the development of the principle of good neighborliness, the countries of the region, while looking to the future and apart from the traditional literature of the past, build new frameworks for cooperation in the region.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered the developments in the region in recent months to be promising and within the framework of the interests of all the countries of this area and added: "The countries of this region have a collective responsibility in promoting the interests of the region, and Iran always appreciates the dialogue and cooperation of the countries of the Persian Gulf as regional partners. 

Re-emphasizing the permanent positions of Iran, Kanaani considered the three Iranian islands of Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa as an integral and eternal part of the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran's Top spokesperson considered the statement of the PGCC council regarding issues related to Tehran's nuclear program to be irrelevant and added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran pursues its peaceful nuclear program based on its rights and duties in accordance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement in interaction with relevant countries and in cooperation with the Agency."

In the end, Kanani stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran once again declares its serious will to achieve a stable, safe, and prosperous region in cooperation with its neighbors and brothers in the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.
