Iran Press/Iran news: According to Iran press citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "Nasser Kanaani Chafi", the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, condemned the unilateral and political action of the US Congress in placing the name of Cuba in the list of countries that support terrorism.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran called this action of the US Congress a violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, including the principles of the equality of sovereigns, the immunity of governments and the prohibition of interference in the internal affairs of other governments.
Kanaani Chafi added that the unilateral approaches of some countries, especially the US government, in innovating and creating such unilateral lists, are the result of self-interested and coercive political approaches.
The spokesperson of Iran's diplomatic establishment stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the victims of this wrong policy of the US government, while expressing solidarity with the Cuban government and people, strongly supports the Cuban government's efforts to counter this illegal action by the White House and hold the US government accountable.203
