Iran Press/ Middle East: Ghassan Daghlas, in charge of the settlements file in the northern West Bank, said settlers from the settlement of Yitzhar, an illegal Israeli settlement built on Palestinian land, attacked residents’ homes in the village of Orif but were confronted by the village residents who were able to fend them off.
Clashes reportedly broke out between the village residents and Israeli soldiers who provided settlers with protection. No injuries or arrests were reported.
Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
