Holland (IP) - The 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution's victory was celebrated at Iran's embassy in The Hague, Holland.

Iran PressEurope: Hosting the participants, Iran's Ambassador to Holland, Alireza Kazemi, recalled the 400th year of the relations between Iran and the Netherlands and expressed hope for closer ties between the two countries in the current year.

Kazemi referred to the 8-year imposed war on Iran by the US-backed Iraqi Ba'athist regime, and noted that the war mingled with the US sanctions on Iran during the 44 past years, proved that the Iranian nation must rely just on its own capabilities.

Scores of ambassadors and diplomatic envoys present in Holland, and officials of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with a number of Dutch scientific and cultural, and business figures, and the Iranians living in the country attended the ceremony.

Forty-four years ago, on February 11, 1979, the Iranian nation led by Imam Khomeini succeeded to oust the US-backed Shah regime and established the Islamic Republic of Iran based on the people's votes.

Tomorrow is February 11, 2023.
