Iran Press/ Middle East: The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad, Iraj Masjedi, stated: "The Americans are trying not to leave Iraq, but the situation in Iraq is not such that whatever they want will happen."
"The Iraqi government is negotiating with the Americans to create a timetable for the withdrawal of American troops, and the situation is such that the American troops will leave Iraq," Masjedi added.
The Iranian ambassador in Baghdad also referred to the visit of Ebrahim Raisi, the Chief of the Iranian Judiciary to Iraq, and the legal pursuit of the assassination of General Soleimani during this visit and said: "A judicial committee has been set up between the two countries to follow up on the legal issues surrounding the assassination of Martyr Soleimani."
Masjedi also assessed Iran and Iraq's relations as broad and forward and said: "We have $ 12 billion annually in economic relations with Iraq, both in the energy sector and in trade and commerce. In the political sector, there are 6 missions of the Islamic Republic, from embassies to consulates. Relations between the two governments are also very good at the ministerial level."
