Iran Press/ America: During their talks, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Venezuelan counterpart, Carlos Faria, discussed issues of mutual interest.
In the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian reviewed the latest status of Iran’s relations with Venezuela and called Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s recent trip to Tehran significant.
“Following the conclusion of comprehensive cooperation accords between the two countries, a top priority on [Iran’s] foreign policy agenda is to implement these agreements, and a meeting of the joint [cooperation] commission can expedite the implementation of mutual agreements,” said Amir-Abdollahian.
The top Venezuelan diplomat, in turn, said he was pleased with the progress in bilateral cooperation on different fronts and highlighted the Venezuelan leader’s determination to forge closer ties with Iran.
He also underscored the need to upgrade the level of ties and increase the number of visits by both countries' officials.
