Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian Researchers at Amirkabir University of Technology in Tehran unveiled the ‘PO-MED 19’, a finger pulse oximeter device.
The device receives data from a person's finger and provides the doctor or the user with useful information about heart rate and oxygen saturation percentage of blood, as well as various interpretations of a person's health.
The use of the device is recommended in health centers, all offices, companies and various commercial and political institutes, as well as at homes for daily monitoring of the general condition of people.
The device could be used to diagnose or screen patients infected with corona disease in quarantine or social distancing and functions even more effective than a clinical thermometer, for the people who generally develop symptoms such as fever and extreme fatigue after a severe immune system conflict with the virus.
Furthermore, it can check the level of one’s blood oxygen, providing valuable information for examining their health status.
The device which is the result of more than 3 years of research and development by a complete group of Iranian engineers and specialists and performing various clinical tests and receiving the necessary standards, has been able to meet part of the needs of the Iranian medical community despite the US illegal sanctions.
