Iran Press/ Iran news: Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Tuesday that the focus of Iran in the Vienna talks is on lifting sanctions and the negotiating team would accept nothing beyond what was agreed on under the JCPOA.
Contrary to the Western parties of the JCPOA, Iran has so far fulfilled its obligations to the international agreement, and now in the negotiations, its word is just the total lifting of the sanctions the West has imposed on the Iranian nation.
On May 8, 2018, the US unilaterally withdraw the JCPOA reached between Iran and the P5+1 in 2015, imposed further sanctions on Iran.
"Issues such as step-for-step negotiations and new commitments have no place in our talks," Khatibzadeh stressed.
He said that if the other parties came to Vienna negotiations with goodwill rather than improvising childish excuses and killing time, the negotiations could be said to be on the right path.
After a five-month cease, the new round of talks of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action JCPOA Joint Commission, kicked off in Vienna to lift US sanctions against Iran.
The meeting will be held at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers and Political Directors of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the P4 + 1 Group (China, Russia, France, UK, Germany), chaired by Iran's top negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani, and Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Enrique Mora.
