Iran Press/ Europe: Royal Antwerp manager Ivan Leko was full of praise for the Iranian goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand despite the Belgium club’s 2-0 defeat against the Premier League leader Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
Beiranvand denied, Giovani Lo Celso, Gareth Bale, and Carlos Vinicius to make a well-done performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London.
Lo Celso then sealed the victory for Jose Mourinho’s side, keeping his cool in a one-on-one situation with the Iranian to send the ball into the bottom-left corner.
“Beiranvand was fantastic tonight,” Leco said after the game.
Beiranvand’s performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which saw him claim the highest rating among Antwerp players on multiple sports websites, will surely give Leko a dilemma regarding Antwerp’s No. 1 position in the future.
