The Iranian foreign ministry on Tuesday summoned the United Kingdom ambassador in Tehran to convey Iran's strong protest to the baseless accusations leveled by London.

Iran Press/Iran news: The British ambassador to Tehran, Simon Shercliff, was summoned to Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Director General of the Western Europe Department this afternoon, and Iran's strong protest was conveyed to him.

The Director General of the Western Europe Department, while calling the British sanctions illegal under pretenses, called the British authorities' accusations baseless and strongly condemned.

The Director General of Western Europe has considered the current propaganda by the British government against Iran as non-constructive and destructive, stating that such propaganda is doomed to failure.

The British ambassador also stated in response that he would convey the received message to his capital. 219
