Iran Press/Asia: Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday evening as the head of a political and economic delegation to consult with senior Pakistani officials.
During his two-day visit to Pakistan, the Iranian foreign minister met with Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and Qamar Jawed Bajwa, chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army.
After meeting Pakistani officials in Islamabad, Zarif stated in a Twitter message: “Detailed and fruitful talks in Pakistan on border commerce and security, as well as barter trade.”
“In meetings with FM Shah Mahmoud Qureshi, Army Chief Gen. Bajwa and PM Imran Khan, also agreed to coordinate on the region—including Afghanistan—and on global issues, including anti-Islam bigotry,” FM Zarif added.
