(IP) - Iran's Taekwondo players won two gold medals in the 2023 Seongnam World Taekwondo Hanmadang.

Iran PressIran news: The 2023 Seongnam World Taekwondo Hanmadang takes place from Friday 21 to Monday 24 of July. It is a festival to bring together Taekwondo practitioners from all over the world and revitalize martial art. 

Hanmadang is a Taekwondo Festival for competitions including the essentials of martial art such as breaking, self-defense, and poomsae, which is held yearly by Kukkiwon.  

Kukkiwon, also known as World Taekwondo Headquarters, and home of the World Taekwondo Academy, is where the official taekwondo governing organization was established by the South Korean government.

The 2023 Seongnam World Taekwondo Hanmadang is hosted by South Korea, with the participation of taekwondo athletes from 58 countries where Iran's representatives won two gold medals on the first day. 

Hossein Honarmand won the gold medal in the Nopi Ap Chagi event, and Reza Faraji also won the second gold medal for Iran in Nopi Chagi with a record of 2.60.

The World Taekwondo Hanmadang opened its first contest in 1992 that brought together Taekwondo practitioners worldwide. It was the perfect venue to present genuine martial arts spirit and highlight the skills and techniques of Taekwondo.
