IP- In a joint press conference on Monday evening, the Iranian President praised the "years of resistance" of the Venezuelan people against imperialism and paid tribute to the national heroes of the country. Raisi emphasized that Iran and Venezuela share common interests and views in the fields of independence, freedom, and justice, which have brought the two nations closer together.

Iran PressAmerica: "The relations between Iran and Venezuela are not ordinary diplomatic relations, but strategic ones," Ebrahim Raisi stated. "Having common interests, views, and enemies has deepened and made cooperation between Iran and Venezuela strategic."

Raisi also noted that both countries have common enemies who do not want them to live independently. He added that Iran has proven its friendship with Venezuela over the years by standing with them during difficult times.

The potential trade volume between Iran and Venezuela is estimated to reach $20 billion. The two nations have signed agreements in various sectors such as energy, agriculture, technology, and healthcare.

The strategic partnership between Iran and Venezuela is expected to further strengthen their ties in the face of international pressure. Both countries are currently under US sanctions, which have severely impacted their economies.

Iran and Venezuela have made significant strides in strengthening their economic, commercial, energy, and technical and engineering services ties in recent years. President Raisi emphasized that the two nations are committed to further developing their relationship across various fields.

He credited the Islamic Republic of Iran's ability to turn sanctions into opportunities as a result of the blessings of the Islamic Revolution, the pure blood of martyrs, and the resilience of its people. 

The President described his negotiations with his Venezuelan counterpart as constructive and useful in improving bilateral relations between the two countries. Despite measures taken to develop relations thus far, both sides agreed that there is still ample room for cooperation expansion. 

Raisi noted that trade volume between Iran and Venezuela has increased from $600 million in the Iranian year 1400 to over $3 billion. He expressed optimism that this figure could reach $10 billion in the first step and $20 billion in the second step.

The President also highlighted 19 cooperation documents signed between the two nations in areas such as industry, mining, agriculture, energy, science, and technology as evidence of their mutual desire to expand bilateral relations.

Finally, Raisi paid tribute to Venezuela's national heroes while honoring the memory of resistance martyr Haj Qasem Soleimani and saluting his noble soul.
