Iran turned to regional power in science, technology: Vice president

Iran's vice president for science and technology said that the country should be the first power in the region in the field of science and technology by 2025.

Iran Press/Iran News: On the sidelines of a visit to the Alborz Science and Technology Park on Thursday, Sorena Sattari said: "In specific areas such as nanotechnology, stem cells, and aerospace, we have made significant progress, with more than 6,000 companies."

Noting that the knowledge-based companies were developing at a good pace, Sattari said the growing movement in the field of the knowledge-based economy in the country began.

"Since the coronavirus outbreak, the knowledge-based companies have perfect performance from producing pharmaceutical equipment to diagnostic kits," he added. 

He also went on to say that the number of knowledge-based companies was moving from 6,000 to 8,000.
