Iran Press/ Iran news: The Iranian head of the parliamentary friendship group said in the meeting that the parliaments of Iran and Turkiye were following a purposeful plan to reach a $30 billion trade per year.
Adel Najafzadeh mentioned the creation of joint free zones, increase in economic integration, and preparation of investment in the field of energy including oil and gas, and petrochemicals as the errands being pursued by the Iranian and Turkish parliaments.
He stressed such measures as creating joint capacities, especially in provincial and free zones, and border markets in a joint border of 534 km to realize the very annual trade goal.
Iran to activate two border markets with Turkiye
The Secretary of Iran's Free Zone High Council, Hojjatollah Abdolmaleki, highlighted the Iranian-Turkish joint free zone and said negotiations began with more than 10 countries, including Turkiye, negotiations to establish the free zones.
He reported the draft agreement was prepared and would be signed soon by the two countries.
The Turkish head of the Iranian-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Group, Osman Nuri Gülaçar, for his part, said that good decisions were made in the framework of expanding cooperation between the two countries.
The Turkish lawmaker Irfan Kartal said that with the further expansion of economic and cultural relations between Iran and Turkiye, the imperialist countries and common enemies of the two neighbors could no longer interfere with the two countries affairs.
In the end, the Iranian officials met with the Speaker of Turkiye's National Assembly, Mustafa Sentop. Tehran was supposed to host the next round of parliamentary negotiations.
