Tehran(IP)-The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria and discussed issues of bilateral, regional, and international interest.

Iran PressIran news: Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad, who has traveled to Tehran at the head of a delegation, met with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir- Abdollahian today (Monday).

A welcoming ceremony for the Syrian Foreign Minister was also held at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the bilateral meeting.

Following up on the implementation of cooperation documents between the two countries, which were signed by the Presidents of the Republic of Iran and Syria during the recent visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Syria, is one of the most important agendas of this trip.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has strategic cooperation with Syria, and Tehran's support for the legitimate government of this country during the Syrian crisis and assistance to the government of Bashar al-Assad in the process of fighting against various terrorist outfits is proof of this.

After the defeat of ISIL, the relations between Syria and Iran have now expanded and diversified, and there are clear prospects for the development of these relations in all fields.
