Tehran(IP): The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed his condolences to the people and government of Cuba over the fire incident and the deaths and injuries of Cuban citizens.

Iran PressIran news: At the fire in a fuel depot in Matanzas province of Cuba, 77 people have been injured so far, three of them are in critical condition, and 17 firefighters are missing.

Matanzas is one of the provinces of Cuba. Major towns in the province include Cárdenas, Colón, Jovellanos and the capital of the same name, Matanzas.

About 800 people have been evacuated from the affected area on the outskirts of Matanzas, a city of140,000 people 100 kilometers east of Havana.

According to Iran Press, Nasser Kanani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in his message expressed his condolences to the government and the nation on the death and injury of a number of Cuban citizens in the recent incident in the fuel storage tanks of this country.

While expressing his sincere sympathy to the families of the victims of this tragic accident, Kanani wished the injured ones a quick recovery. 219
