Iran Press/ Iran News: On the sidelines of the 26th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, Iran Oil Show, on Saturday, Arsalan Rahimi stated that upon implementation of the new development projects in the oil transmission industry, including new plans to construct pipelines, Iran would see remarkable development in crude oil and oil products transmission.
CEO of the Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunication Company highlighted that having 194 oil transmission centers, pressure compressors and facilities, as well as 296 telecommunication stations, the IOPTC is responsible for transmitting crude and oil products.
He added that some pipelines, such as the Bandar abbas-Rafsanjan pipeline, are vital and working beyond their capacity.
Noting that transmission of crude and oil products is being carried out according to the plans, he said the IOPTC has attempted to minimize the pauses.
“fortunately, transmission in some pipelines has surpassed previous years’ capacity,” Rahimi pointed.
"About 60 billion liters of oil products were transmitted across Iran last year, which sees a 12% rise compared to the previous Iranian year that was 53.4 billion liters," he said.
Rahimi stated that the IOPTC had transmitted 59.9 billion liters of oil products in the Iranian year 1398; the amount had risen by 900 million liters last year, hitting the record high of 60.9 billion liters in oil products transmission.
“gasoline and diesel accounted for 90 percent of the whole transmitted products,” he added, indicating that some 24 billion liters of the amount had gone to the gasoline transmission.
The CEO of IOPTC explained that last [Iranian] year, about 68 billion liters of crude oil had been transmitted, which increased by 6% compared to 64 billion liters of transmission in the same period the year before that.
Regarding the indigenization of the required equipment in Iran’s transmission industry, Rahimi said Iran is self-sufficient and has no dependence on any foreign countries.
He added that right now, over 14,000 kilometers of pipeline for crude and oil products transmission are operating in Iran, which will be increased when the new development plans come on stream.
