Iran Press/ America: The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani on Thursday local time, at the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly regarding a resolution on the war in Ukraine, referred to the continuing consequences of this conflict on the situation of humanitarian rights, the World economy and said that after a year of this conflict, there is still no prospect of its end.
He added: The Islamic Republic of Iran, based on its principled position regarding the need for everyone to adhere to the United Nations Charter, including the principles of equality and territorial integrity of countries, asks all parties to adhere to the principles of humanitarian rights, protection of civilians, and civilian infrastructure.
Iravani noted: It will be possible to achieve peace by giving priority to dialogue and diplomacy and paying attention to the root causes of this conflict.
The Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nation also said: In this regard, the Islamic Republic of Iran is considering the idea of using the capacity of the Secretary General of the United Nations in order to create a trans-regional group of independent, neutral countries with the capacity to deal with this issue, in order to put an end to hostilities.
According to Iravani, such a process, while facilitating dialogue, would provide grounds for opening up the current deadlock in the conflict in Ukraine.
Criticizing the draft of the proposed resolution, Iravani stated that it was expected that on the anniversary of this conflict, the draft of the resolution would comprehensively and impartially consider all aspects of the conflict. But unfortunately, this document ignores the conditions and provocative actions that are the background of this crisis and fails to make an impartial assessment of the conditions.
Moreover, Iravani's decisive answer to the ambassador of the Zionist regime stated that Iranophobia is a part of the regime's regular actions in the General Assembly and that the representative of that regime uses every opportunity to make accusations unrelated to Iran.
The senior diplomat of the Islamic Republic of Iran added: The Israeli regime is trying to find a cover for its destructive actions in the region and its crimes against the Palestinian people with this spreading accusation.
The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations strongly condemned the Israeli regime's air attack on a residential area in Damascus and said: while condemning these actions, the world should force the Israeli regime to respect international law.
