Iran Press/ Iran News: In his first trip outside of Ukraine since the beginning of the war in February, Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday reiterated accusations of drone deliveries by Iran to Russia for use in the Ukraine war.
He accused Iran of being “an ally” in Russia’s “genocidal policy” and said: “Iranian deadly drones sent to Russia in hundreds and hundreds became a threat to our critical infrastructure.”
Nasser Kanaani underlined that Iran had previously responded to the “baseless accusations” by Ukraine.
He reiterated Iran’s emphasis that it had supplied no military equipment to any party for use in the Ukraine war.
“We have always respected the territorial integrity of countries, including Ukraine, and Zelensky should realize that Iran’s strategic patience will not be unlimited towards such unsubstantiated accusations,” he said.
“It is better for Zelensky to learn from the fate of some leaders of countries who were pleased with the support of the United States,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman noted.
Tehran and Moscow have repeatedly rejected reports of drone delivery to Russia for use in the Ukraine war.
Iranian officials have admitted supplying drones to Russia, but they have stressed that the move was part of defense cooperation between Tehran and Moscow and that the aircraft had been sent before the Ukraine war began.
