Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the 7th of October operation by Hamas is totally legitimate, an act of resistance against the Israeli regime's long aggression on the Palestinian nation.

Iran PressAmerica: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in New York on Wednesday evening ahead of a United Nations General Assembly vote set for Friday on a resolution calling for a ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas War.

Delivering a speech at the UN General Assembly meeting on Thursday evening, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed that Iran supports the formation of a Palestinian Government in the country with the Al-Quds as its capital and with the votes of the Palestinian people either Muslims, Christians, or Jews.

He recalled that according to international law, Palestine is an occupied country and Israel is recognized as an aggressor regime.

The people of Palestine have the right to liberate their land through the use of armed attack against the Israeli occupying regime, Amir-Abdollahian reiterated.

With regard to the role of the US in the war on Gaza, the Iranian FM stated that the US is the ever supporter of the Israeli regime and is the main factor of the failure of all factors including the UN's efforts, to solve the crisis.

The interesting thing, he said, that the US supports the Israeli regime both militarily and financially and at the same time invites the other sides to refrain from violence.

FM Amir-Abdollahian said the Hamas operation against the Israeli occupation is their legitimate right and it is ridiculous that the Israeli regime represents itself as a victim.

Iran's FM announced his country's readiness, along with Qatar and Turkiye, to send humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza and urged for drafting a resolution that would pressure the Israeli regime to stop genocide in Palestine.

According to Palestinian officials, the death toll in Gaza has risen to more than 7,000 people, including nearly 3,000 children.

The extensive air raids on the Gazan people came after the Palestinian resistance forces carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on the Israeli regime's forces on October 7 in response to the regime's daily crimes against the Palestinian people during 75 years of occupation of Palestine.
