Iran Press/America: Amir Saeed Iravani, Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, on Tuesday local time at a Security Council meeting regarding Palestine, said: "The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is the backbone of the entire humanitarian response in Gaza. Targeting it deprives Palestinians of vital aid and adds another layer of hardship to this crisis."
Iran's ambassador to the United Nations stated: "The apartheid and occupying Israeli regime is a real threat to international peace and security."
Stating that the Security Council is at a critical juncture, Iravani stressed: "This body must either act decisively to stop the Israeli regime's war machine and prevent further genocide, war, and aggression or tacitly allow these crimes to continue unchecked." 219
