Tehran (IP) - In a letter to the Director General of The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Iran called the immediate action of the body to protect the works, monuments and cultural heritage of the occupied territories, especially Gaza.

Iran PressIran news: In the letter of Ezzatullah Zarghami to Audrey Azoulay, Director General of UNESCO, it is stated: These attacks by the Zionist regime are due to the destruction of infrastructure and the killing of civilians, especially children and women, in addition to depriving educational opportunities of this densely populated area destroys cultural and historical works.

"The protection of the works, places, and cultural heritage of the occupied territories, especially Gaza, needs more attention from the UNESCO organization and requires the urgent action of Her Excellency," the letter reads.
