Iran Press/ Iran news: The Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the British Ambassador to Tehran, Rob Macaire, was summoned to the ministry on Saturday and informed of the Islamic Republic of Iran's strong protest against these uncontrolled and terrorist movements.
Saeed Khatibzadeh said the summoned ambassador told that the British government and police had failed to ensure the security of polling stations and voters.
Khatibzadeh added that the envoy reminded of the mischievous and hypocritical actions of the UK-based Persian-language media, including the BBC Persian and Iran International, which tried to strengthen the election boycott, encourage people to protest in the streets, and disrupt the election process.
The British Ambassador to Tehran, for his part, said he would convey Iran's protest to the UK government.
During Iran's 13th presidential election on Friday, some counter-revolutionary elements gathered in front of polling stations in London and Birmingham, disrupting the election process.
They beat an Iranian resident who was going to cast her ballot and broke her hand.
