Iran's leaving additional protocol under JCPOA: Speaker

Tehran (IP) - The Speaker of Iran's Parliament said that the recent strategic action law for nullifying the sanctions was adopted to leave the voluntary implementation of the IAEA's additional protocol, under paragraphs 36 and 37 of the JCPOA.

Iran PressIran news: In an interview with IRIB on Thursday, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said that while Iran observed all of its commitments to the international nuclear deal, its Natanz nuclear facility was sabotaged, and Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani and nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh were assassinated, all by the US.

"If we do not resist against [the West's] greed, we cannot do anything. In this law, we have explicitly stated that at any moment, the parties in the JCPOA fulfill their obligations, we will return to our obligations," Qalibaf announced.

He reiterated that the nullification of the sanctions imposed on Iran is possible only through getting strong against the enemies, pointing to the Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who told explicitly to the European party that the law adopted by the Iranian parliament is binding on the government.

The Speaker of Iran's Parliament noted that the body along the government's conformity goes ahead in the international arena to remove the sanctions and protect the Iranian nation's rights.
