Iran's Interior minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said that all Iranian border guards in hands of terrorists in Pakistan must be freed.

Iran news/ According to Iran press, Iran's Interior minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said Saturday on the sidelines of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution that five of the border guards have been handed to the Pakistani government, thanks to the efforts of the intelligence, security and law enforcement agencies, in particular Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Stressing that all of the 12 Iranian border guards have to be handed to Iran's officials, Rahmani fazli called on Pakistani government to fulfil and continue its good cooperation with Iran.

He added Iran is ready to enhance border security cooperation with Pakistan in a bid to ensure the security of the two countries’ frontiers.

“We expect Pakistan’s government to boost its border security cooperation [with us],” Rahmani Fazli said.

The minister added that negotiations with Pakistani government officials have been promising, and the circumstances on adopting mutual measures are being surveyed.

Rahmani Fazli stressed that in case Pakistani government could not embark on a mission for any reason, Iran is ready to conduct operations against terrorists.

“Should they give us a green light, we have the power to attack the terrorists located beyond the borders,” he said.

12 Iranian border guards, including local Basij volunteer forces at a border post in the city of Mirjaveh, southeast Iran, were abducted on Oct. 16 by the elements of the so-called Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group, which is based in Pakistan.

Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps Major General Mohammad-Ali Jaafari had been announced that Pakistan-based terrorists have released five of the 12 Iranian border guards kidnapped last month.
