Iran Press/ Iran news: This condemnation came during a phone conversation with Abdullah Bou Habib, Lebanon's Foreign Minister.
During the call on the evening of September 17, 2024, Araghchi expressed his condolences and solidarity with the Lebanese government and its people, especially the families of the victims and the injured.
He emphasized Iran’s readiness to provide assistance, including medical support and the potential transfer of wounded individuals to Tehran for treatment.
Araghchi also inquired about the condition of Iran's Ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, who sustained injuries in the attack. He commended the Lebanese government's prompt medical response and sought updates on Amani’s recovery.
In response, Bou Habib expressed gratitude for Araghchi’s concern and Iran’s willingness to assist Lebanon during this challenging time. He affirmed the Lebanese government's commitment to thoroughly investigate the incident and ensure accountability.
Reports from Lebanese media indicated that several communication devices were detonated in various locations across Lebanon, allegedly linked to members of Hezbollah.
Foreign Minister Contacts Wife of Injured Ambassador
In a separate communication, Minister Araghchi also reached out to the wife of Ambassador Amani to inquire about his health status.
He conveyed his hopes for a swift recovery and reiterated Iran's preparedness to facilitate medical transfers for Amani and other injured individuals if necessary.
The ambassador's wife expressed appreciation for the minister's concern, reporting that Amani's condition was stable and improving.
