Moscow (IP) - Iran's Supreme Court Chief and his Russian counterpart emphasized strengthening Iran-Russia cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

Iran PressEurope: In a bid to talk with Russian judicial authorities, Ahmad Mortazavi Moghadam arrived in Moscow on Monday evening May 16, 2023, at the invitation of the Chief Justice of the Russian Federation. 

Iran and Russia's shared strategic interests in bilateral fields have boosted ties between the two sides in recent years.

Iran's Supreme Court Chief, Ahmad Mortazavi Moghadam, in a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vyacheslav Lebedev in Moscow, highlighted the necessity of developing relations in the jurisdiction as well as other sectors."

Moghadam's proposed draft (PD) of a bilateral memorandum with the Supreme Court of Russia was welcomed by the Russian side.

Referring to Iran's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Moghadam emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in the fight against organized crimes.

Referring to Moscow's resolution to develop relations with Tehran, Lebedev stated that Russia is ready to review Iran's PD for the development of bilateral judicial relations and to strengthen cooperation.
