Iran Press/ Iran news: Russian foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, in response to the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, entered Tehran on Wednesday afternoon on a two-day visit and was welcomed by Amir-Abdollahian on Thursday.
After negotiations with Lavrov, Iranian FM tweeted: "I had substantial talks with the Russian foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov and we discussed regional as well as international issues."
He added: "We both reiterated the illegitimate nature of the arbitrary and extraterritorial sanctions."
Iran's foreign minister further said in the tweet: "We agreed to intensify our joint efforts to accelerate full implementation of the mutual agreements."
Earlier on Wednesday, Lavrov met with Iran's president, Ebrahim Raisi.
