Tehran (IP) - Iran has exported some 13.7 million tons of mining products worth $3.275 billion in the first three months of the current Iranian fiscal year.

Iran PressIran news: According to a Sunday report by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation (IMIDRO), Iran has exported some 13.7 million tons of mining products worth $3.275 billion in the first three months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21 – June 21) that shows a 7.6% increase in terms of value compared to figures from last year's corresponding period. However, it said that Iran's exports of minerals indicate an insignificant 0.2% year-on-year growth in terms of tonnage.

The report highlighted that the chain of steel and related products stood on top of the list of Iranian mineral exports while the group's exports were 17% less than the corresponding period of the last year due to electricity shortages, reduced demands, and global prices.

In aggregate, the chain of steel and related products (with $1.58 billion of exports) had a 48.2% share of the country's total mineral exports in the three-month period.

Copper products (with $513 million), the aluminum chain (with $251 million), cement chain (with $146 million), and iron ore pellet (with $140 million) ranked second to fifth, respectively, following the steel group.
