Iran Press/ Iran News: COV-Iran Barakat vaccine manufacturer previously announced the production of a special vaccine for Omicron and its success in animal testing.
Younes Panahi, Iran's deputy health minister for research and technical affairs, said that a new generation of Barakat vaccine will enter the clinical trial phase next week.
Preliminary results from studies of this updated vaccine indicate 100% neutralization of the Omicron strain with the new vaccine and its safety in animal studies.
The results of experiments with the anti- Omicron Barakat vaccine on animals showed that 100% of the animals receiving the vaccine had antibodies against the Omicron.
The current vaccines in the world do not prevent new strains such as Omicron, and if a vaccine is designed and produced for new strains such as Omicron, it will prevent new strains.
