Muscat(IP) - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Omani counterpart, Seyyid Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, met in Muscat to discuss key regional, international, and bilateral issues.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, traveled to Oman for an official visit and was officially welcomed by the Sultan of the Middle Eastern country, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, at The Al Alam Palace. 

In the official welcoming ceremony, after the President of Iran and the Sultan of Oman were in a special place, the national anthem of the two countries was played, and then the presidents of the two countries saw the ceremonial unit present at the ceremony and introduced the accompanying officials to each other.

Omani officials believe that establishing close relations with Iran is based on realism, and they consider Iran, a great neighbor.

The two countries have no territorial or border disputes with each other.

Iran's support for Oman has played a positive and lasting role in Oman's historical memory.

Tehran, Muscat ink MOU on boosting trading cooperation

Iran and Oman signed a memorandum of understanding on the comprehensive development of trade cooperation between the two countries.

The memorandum was signed by Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade, Reza Fatemi Amin, and the Minister of Trade of Oman, Qais bin Mohammad Ali Yusuf Al-Lawati.
