Tehran (IP)- Head of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said that Tehran has negotiated with some neighboring countries to develop joint oil fields.

Iran PressIran news: Mohsen Khojasteh Mehr said that studies had been started with one of the countries to develop joint fields. Khojasteh Mehr also announced the start of cooperation with Russia to develop oil and gas fields. Talking about the development of the Azadegan oil field, the head of NIOC added: "With the development of the Azadegan oil field, 20 new wells get ready to be operational, and the production capacity has reached 100,000 barrels."

The Azadegan oil field is an oil field in Iran. It is located 80 kilometers (50 mi) west of Ahvaz, near the Iraqi border. The field was discovered in 1997 when it was the most extensive oil discovery in Iran in 30 years.

Its current production is 40,000 barrels per day, and the estimated oil in place is 33,200 million barrels.

The head of the National Iranian Oil Company stated that the new corridor for oil export is in the phase of studies and negotiations.
