Tehran(IP)- The foreign ministers of Iran and Mauritania discussed in a telephone conversation about holding an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Considering Mauritania's chairmanship of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Foreign Ministers' Meeting, managing an emergency meeting of the organization was one of the other topics of the conversation.

Amir- Abdollahian and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mauritania discussed and exchanged views on bilateral relations and developments in the region, especially the situation in Palestine while congratulating each other on the holy month of Ramadan.

In the phone call, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran congratulated his Mauritanian counterpart on the successful holding of the recent meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers in Nouakchott and invited him to visit Tehran, which was welcomed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mauritania.

The parties also discussed the current situation in Palestine and the recent aggressions of the Zionists, the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the attack on Palestinian worshipers, and emphasized the need for concerted action by Islamic countries to counter the aggressive actions of the Israeli regime.
