Tehran(IP)- The spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the anti-Iranian statements of the German foreign minister in Baghdad.

Iran PressIran news: During her visit to Baghdad, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock made allegations against Iran and while accusing the country of carrying out cross-border missile attacks, she called it unacceptable and said: "These attacks put both civilians and the stability of the region at risk."

In this regard Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Wednesday while condemning these statements, said: "First of all, it was expected that the German foreign minister would have apologized for the past shameful behavior of the government of the country towards the two nations of Iran and Iraq."

However; instead of making baseless claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran, she has been trying to hide the history of her country's crimes in supporting the Saddam regime against Iran and the shameful crime of equipping the Baath regime with chemical weapons to use them against defenseless Iranian and Iraqi soldiers and citizens.

Reminding Iran's undeniable role in supporting the territorial integrity and unity of Iraq and respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this country, Kanaani said: "Currently, there is a significant number of armed separatists and terrorist groups whose hands are stained with the blood of Iranian and Iraqi civilians who have taken refuge in Germany."

He added: "The statements of the German foreign minister against Iran from Baghdad are a sign of the continuation of the  country's government's supportive approach to armed and separatist terrorists against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the continuation of fruitless efforts to damage the relations between the two neighboring countries of Iran and Iraq."

Kanaani pointed out: "The governments and nations of the region will never forget the performance of certain western countries, including Germany, in war-mongering and supporting war-mongering dictators."
