Iran (IP) - The First International Conference of Health Literacy kicked off in Mashhad, northeastern Iran, with the participation of domestic and foreign experts.

Iran PressIran News: At the opening ceremony of the international event on Saturday, the Head of the Mashhad University of Medical Science Mohammad-Ali Kiani said the issue of health literacy emerged in the world in 2010 with the aim of improving the health of society and preventing diseases. 

Kiani said that holding such events would prepare the grounds for the exchange of ideas between scholars of health and medical area. 

He noted that the significance of health literacy has been allowed for in the country's main documents, including the general health policies, the document of education, the comprehensive scientific roadmap of the country's health, the comprehensive scientific roadmap of the country and document of the communications programs of the country's health culture. 

Despite the all-out sanction campaign led by the West, the Islamic Republic of Iran has rach good achievements in different medical areas, among other scientific areas, thanks to reliance on the people, especially the youths.
