Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking on The 17th session of the joint commission on Economic, trade, scientific, technological, and cultural cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Kazakhstan, which kicked off in Tehran on February 20, Seyed Javad Sadati Nejad expressed hope that this commission would be a beginning to expand bilateral relations.
Referring to the fact that the commission was not held in the last two years due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Iran's minister added that the two countries insist on expanding their trade rates more than before.
Sadati Nejad said that the commission focuses on expanding and finalizing agreements in various fields of trade, especially in agriculture.
He added that Iran plans to hold an Exhibition to show its capabilities in Kazakistan next spring.
Two countries have unique transit situations, and organizing the regional corridors is among the topics of the commission, the minister highlighted.

Iran and Kazakhstan will also support each other in medical equipment, Sadati Nejad referred.
Following the commission, Kazakhstan's trade minister Bakhyt Sultanov called Iran a significant business partner for Kazakhstan and said that the countries trade rate increased by 56% again, which had decreased in the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bakhyt Sultanov emphasized keeping two countries' trade dynamic and said that 60 products with 162 billion dollars could be exported to Iran.
He also added that on the sidelines of this commission, various meetings with two countries' business people were held and expressed hope that these economic meetings would continue regularly.
The 17th session of the joint commission on Economic, trade, scientific, technological, and cultural cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Tehran on February 20 and 21.
Iranian and Kazakh officials signe five cooperation documents
At the end of the meeting, five joint cooperation documents were signed between the Iranian and Kazakh officials.
At the closing ceremony, Seyed Javad Sadatinejad, Minister of Jihad and Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressed hope that the trade rate between the two countries would increase to $ 3 billion.
He also stressed the need to facilitate banking and customs relations between the two countries at the end of the meeting, saying: "We are ready to export agricultural products to Kazakhstan and import mutton and beef to create sustainable and common food security."
