Iran Press/ Asia: Reacting to the recent developments in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on Thursday: "The government and the intelligent people of the friendly, brotherly and neighborly country can resolve their problems and disputes through dialogue without external interference."
Emphasizing that the stability and security of Kazakhstan are important for the Islamic Republic of Iran, Khatibzadeh added: "There should be no room for abuse by foreign agents."
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Tehran was closely monitoring the current developments in Kazakhstan and expressed hope that peace would return to the country as soon as possible.
On the third day of protests, hundreds of protesters and police stormed the main square in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
According to witnesses this Thursday morning, the sound of gunfire was heard as security forces approached the protesters in the main square of Almaty.
Eight police and security forces were killed on Tuesday and Wednesday as protests erupted after fuel prices rose in Kazakhstan.
