The CEO of Iran's Water Supply Company for Industries and Mines, Mohammad Hassan Asadi, announced last night during the “Development of Investment Opportunities in Chabahar Free Zone” conference that the world's largest concrete aqueduct, measuring 262 meters in length and weighing 12,000 tons, has been constructed on land and installed on the seabed of the Gulf of Oman.

Iran PressIran News: According to Mohammad Hassan Asadi, this aqueduct extends from a depth of -12 meters in the sea to the water intake point.

The CEO of Iran's Water Supply Company for Industries and Mines added that this national project of transferring water from the Gulf of Oman to the eastern provinces of Iran, having obtained all necessary permits with a focus on Sistan and Baluchestan, is progressing with an investment volume extending to Mashhad and Zahedan, currently at 18% and 32% physical completion.

The CEO of Iran's Water Supply Company for Industries and Mines further noted that so far, over 1,000 kilometers of the planned 1,342 kilometers have been constructed to Mashhad, equivalent to 75% of the route. Construction on over 400 kilometers of the 553 kilometers to Zahedan has reached 72%.

Highlighting that the execution of the first desalination unit with a capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per day has more than 30% physical progress, Asadi emphasized that one of the primary humanitarian and national objectives of this project is to achieve sustainable water resources for drinking and industrial purposes, promoting the growth and development of rich industries and mines in the eastern provinces of Iran.
