New Delhi (IP) - The 19th round of political consultations between Iran and India took place in New Delhi yesterday, chaired by Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, and Vikram Misri, India's Deputy Foreign Minister.

Iran Press/Asia: The discussions covered various aspects of bilateral relations, including cooperation on Chabahar Port, agricultural collaboration, trade and economic issues, cultural exchanges, and the North-South Corridor, which both nations find significant.

The parties also addressed current regional and global developments, such as the situation in Afghanistan and events in West Asia and the Caucasus.

During the meeting, Takht-Ravanchi highlighted India's importance in Iran's foreign relations and expressed Iran's willingness to enhance cooperation across all sectors. In response, the Indian Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed India's readiness to collaborate with Iran, particularly emphasizing the role of Chabahar Port in supporting Afghanistan's reconstruction and economic development.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation within multilateral international organizations, including the United Nations, BRICS, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
