Iran Press/Iran News: In a televised interview on Saturday night, the Intelligence Minister announced that the chief of the Tondar terrorist group, Jamshid Sharmahd, who was leading an armed and sabotage operation in Iran from the United States, was arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic.
"The United States and the Zionist regime thought that the chief of the Tondar group could take action against Iran, but the Iranian security forces hit the final blow at the right time," He added.
Alavi noted that details of Jamshid Sharmahd's arrest would be released in the near future, noting that the man who used to introduce himself as a member of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is now in the hands of the Islamic Republic of Iran's intelligence.
The Iranian Minister of Intelligence stated that the arrest of the chief of the Tondar terrorist group is not the first complicated operation of the Ministry of Intelligence in striking the enemies, and stated that about 27 terrorist acts were committed by Jamshid Sharmahd and his organization, all of which were thwarted by the Iranian security forces.
Alavi pointed out that the International Police Organization (Interpol) was aware of the terrorist acts of Jamshid Sharmahd, but the international organization ignored his sabotages, which shows the absurdity of the claim of fighting terrorism in the West.
The Ministry of Intelligence of Iran announced on Saturday: "Jamshid Sharmahd, the leader of the Tondar terrorist group, who was leading armed and sabotage operations in Iran from the United States, was arrested following a complicated and advanced operation by the Iranian security forces."
The Tondar terrorist group was founded in 2004 by a man named Fathollah Manoucheri known as Forood Fouladvand.* This person announced his goal of forming this group to overthrow the Islamic Republic within a year.* "Your TV", owned by Forood Fouladvand, is the publicizing and broadcasting platform for the group.* After the disappearance of Forood Fouladvand, another person named "Jamshid Sharmahd" introduced himself as the leader of this group.
* In 2008, Sharmahd designed and carried out an explosive attack on the Seyyed al-Shohada mosque in Shiraz, the capital of Fars province, in which 14 people were martyred and 215 were injured in a terrorist attack.
* Sharmahd was arrested on August 1, 2020, by Iran's security forces.
