Iran Health Ministry screens 50 million Iranians for Coronavirus

Tehran (IP) - Iran Health Ministry screened 50 million Iranians for coronavirus across the country so far.

Iran PressIran news: Deputy Minister of health, treatment, and medical educations said late on Thursday that over 50 million Iranians have so far been screened for coronavirus.

Ali Reza Raeisi added that screening in all provinces is currently conducted by 23,000 special teams and some 50 million Iranians have so far been screened under the project.

All Iranian can take part in the screening through both the telephone number 4030 and the salamat.gov.ir website, he said.

Referring to the implementation of social distancing rules, Raeisi said that the Iranian people will take a big step in the fight against COVID-19 by obeying the rules fully.

On Thursday, in line with reducing contacts and implementing social distancing plan, the Iranian government has decided to tighten regulations for people's presence outdoors.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani urged people to stay at home and observe health protocols.

He noted that the government and health officials will do their best for supplying people’s demands.
