IRGC said in a statement that it has captured 7 fishing vessels in the southern city of Jask over illegal maritime activities

Iran Press/Iran news: The public relations division of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in a statement released on Wednesday announced that it has impounded 7 fishing vessels in the Southern city of Jask in Hormozgan province.

According to Iran Press, the statement reads that the vessels impounded over trespassing the allowed distance from the shore as well as unauthorized fishing activities.

It is also noteworthy to mention that 24 members of the crew who are foreign nationals have been handed over to  Iran's judiciary officials to handle the case. 

Referring to the fact that the fishing boats have caught some 222 different species of the aquatics, the statement added that IRGC's navy will clamp down any violation in fishing-related activities which could affect the native people's livings and it has formed the marine mobilization forces to conduct marine patrol in the regional waters.101/203
