Iran Press/Middle East: The Holy Shrine has been also hosting the Iraqis as well as other Muslims coming from the other Muslim countries since Monday night when the eulogists began to sing joyous religious songs.
The pilgrims also made a pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine in the eve of the festive day. According to the Muslim Calendar, today which is the 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah corresponding to August 20, 2019, is observed by the Shiite Muslims as Eid al-Ghadir, reported Iran Press.
As one of the Great Muslim festive days, this day is to celebrate the appointment of Ali ibn Abi Talib by Muslims' Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) as his immediate successor (Wali).
It marks the anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) sermon, described in Hadith of the pond of Khumm, in which he stated, whosoever's master (Maula) I am, Ali is also his (Maula) master. O' God, love those who love him and be hostile to him.104/203
