Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslami, has said Iran has made good progress in development of transport infrastructure in recent years.

Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslami, said: "Up to now the transport infrastructure of the country has developed largely through government efforts, but from now on, the important point is that the private sector shall take a more prominent role in developing the transport infrastructure of the country. This means we shall accelerate the development of transport infrastructure in this country."

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development added: "With creation of the transportation development fund, and with the resources that we have allocated to this sector, the government is supporting the private sector to expand services to the public."

Mohammad Eslami added: "The important point is that we shall offer quality services and quality products to the general public, and also we shall 'ensure justice' in the sense that all the population of the country should have equal access to the transport infrastructure of the country including roads, railroads, shipping and airways, and we shall offer quality services to the public."
