In this meeting, the Minister of Interior, Ahmad Vahidi, referring to the importance of paying attention to the neighboring countries, mentioned the many opportunities available in the region and expressed the vision of 1404 (2025) as an important necessity.

Iranian minister of interior expressed hope that the heads of Iran's missions and the border governors would use all the existing capacities in the region and increase mobility with a joint plan for comprehensive cooperation with neighboring countries.

Saeed Mohammad, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Economic Zones, also enumerated the existing capacities in the free zones and the neglected benefits in this context.

Jokar, Chairman of the Councils and Internal Affairs Commission of the Parliament, also stressed the readiness of Iran's Parliament to cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior to promote cooperation in the field of relations with neighboring countries.

At the meeting, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also outlined the 13th administration's foreign policy program to activate relations with neighbors and develop trade and tourism with them.

Amir-Abdollahian said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has offices in 29 of the 31 provinces of the country, which in the past were mostly devoted to consular affairs, but now the dominant approach of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its offices in the provinces is economy-oriented since more than 40% of the topics discussed at seminar of the ambassadors of neighboring countries are related to economic issues.

"Unfortunately, foreign trade, especially in border areas, is not at the level desired by  the Islamic Republic of Iran and  does not fulfill the goals set in the Second Phase of the Islamic Revolution," said Amir-Abdollahian, urging contribution of the governors general to remove the obstacles.
